This is not an "ad blocker". It simply adds a stylesheet that hides the containers for the most intrusive ads on Character.AI.
This includes banner ads, pull-up and pull-down ads, the "View ad to continue" interruption, the in-line ads, and the "Upgrade to (c.ai+)" button on the left sidebar.
This should work with or without a primary ad blocker, since the targeted ad containers are hidden by the stylesheet when they appear.
Naturally, this script has no effect for (c.ai+) members, since these ad-related annoyances are already removed with a membership.
This script has been tested and appears functional under:
- Chrome on Windows 10, default mode (screens 1 and 2) and mobile emulation, using Tampermonkey
- Safari on iPadOS 18 (screens 3 and 4), using Userscripts
